Welcome to our November Postcard. We're straight into the autumn Dark Skies Festival which has some fantastic events on offer - watch my video of Stargazing with the Eddington Astronomical Society at Kirkbie Kendal School on Monday evening.

Our challenges to unsightly and noisy telecoms masts applications in remote parts of the Lake District, seem to be turning into a bit of a success story, we're pleased to say.

This month we also co-hosted the National Park Societies' Conference with the Campaign for National Parks, in Kendal, which was an inspiring event to be part of. Thanks to everyone who attended.

You can sign up for the last few spaces on our large scale volunteer conservation Fell Care Day in Buttermere on 17th November, and don't forget to order your Christmas cards and calendars while there's still stock.

With our very best wishes,

Michael Hill, CEO
Friends of the Lake District
