  1. Orders

The supply of goods from our Online Shop is subject to availability, and it is not always possible for us to inform you at the time you place your order whether the goods you want are still available for purchase. If the item is not available, and not likely to come back into stock in a reasonable time, we will contact you to explain your options which will include cancelling your order and a full refund.

If we have made a mistake with your order please contact us as soon as possible and we will rectify the issue for you by either sending out a new item or refunding you.

We reserve the right to refuse to supply any individual.

Products may differ slightly from the images shown. All sizes, dimensions and colours of products as indicated on our online shop are approximate but we make every effort to make sure they are as accurate as possible.

You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the details provided on the order form. Take particular care when entering information to be used in or on any products, gifts cards, certificates or plaques to be personalised to your requirements.

  1. Pricing

Items on this shop are in pounds sterling.  All profits made from the sale of goods, membership, gifts and all donations support the work of Friends of the Lake District (registered charity number No. 1100759).

By placing an order you consent to payment being charged to your debit or credit card as provided on the order form. We will use Stripe to validate your payment for online purchases.

  1. Delivery

All items requiring delivery will be sent by 2nd class post using Royal Mail unless otherwise agreed prior to purchase.

If you are purchasing from overseas you may have to pay an import duty to your own country, such duty is not covered in our pricing and you will be solely responsible for its settlement to the appropriate authority.

We aim to process and dispatch all products, gifts and membership packs, including printed certificates within 10 working days of receipt of payment/donation. If your item is time sensitive you may wish to inform us personally by calling 01539 720788 or emailing [email protected] and we will try to accommodate your request.

  1. Exercising your right to change your mind (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

You are entitled to cancel your order if you so wish, provided that you exercise your right no longer than 14 days after the day on which you receive the goods or services.

If you decide to exercise the above right, you can return your order by notifying us within 14 days of delivery (or where we deliver your order in instalments, within 14 days of the last item delivered) without giving any reason. Please contact us to advise us this is what you wish to do. You then have 14 days to get the products back to us for a full refund. For your protection, we recommend that you use a recorded-delivery service.

Items must be returned to us in their original packaging, with all tags intact and in perfect, unused and re-saleable condition. Please return your item(s) to the address below, clearly stating your name, address and order number:

Friends of the Lake District

Murley Moss

Oxenholme Road

Kendal

LA9 7SS

This right to change your mind does not apply in the case of Landscape Gifts or personalised items. If you wish to return an item bought in a “bundle” offer (consisting of multiple products purchased together) you must return all items to us.

If you decide to exercise your above right, we will refund you the price you paid for the products and P&P charges. However, please note we are permitted by law to reduce your refund to reflect any reduction in the value of the goods, if this has been caused by your handling them in a way which would not be permitted in a shop. Unless the item is faulty you are responsible for paying the cost of the return postage.

  1. Returns – Faulty or unfit for purpose products

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 says goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. During the expected lifespan of your product you're entitled to the following:

  • up to 30 days: if your goods are faulty, then you can get a refund;
  • up to six months: if they can't be repaired or replaced, then you're entitled to a full refund, in most cases;
  • up to six years: if the goods do not last a reasonable length of time, you may be entitled to some money back.

 This is a summary of some of your key rights. For detailed information from Citizens Advice please visit www.citizensadvice.org.uk or call 03454 04 05 06.

If you believe your items to be faulty, or unfit for purpose please contact us as soon as possible and we will refund you for that item.

This does not affect your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (also known as ‘statutory rights’). You may also have other rights in law.

    8. Events

It is important you consider whether an event is appropriate for yourself at time of booking as many of our events require a certain level of fitness and stamina. Friends of the Lake District has appropriate public liability insurance to cover all events. In some instances you may be required to sign a disclaimer when booking an event.

For paid events any cancellations and refunds are at our discretion. Where possible refunds will be given however we reserve the right to factor in outlaid costs such as administration time, printing and postage where applicable.
