Welcome to our latest Postcard From the Lakes. This week we've been very concerned about plans for Elterwater quarry, and we know many of you are too, as more than 30,000 people have signed a petition against it. You can read more about it at the link below.

It's nearly National Hay Meadows day and our meadows are blooming and there are meadow events in the Westmorland Dales next weekend. Do send us any meadows photos if you manage to get to High Borrowdale hay meadow or Bowber Head Farm, we'd love to see them.

Our volunteers have been hard at work in the heat this week, walling in Oxenholme and doing tree work in Grasmere. Our photo competition is still open, and there are still spaces on two of the events at our AGM on 8 July in Ulverston. Do join us if you can.
