The story so far... See all Blog posts>

We are into our second week of work by Dan and Nick of DB Contracts to install a new path and bridge to allow access to Dam Mire Wood at Threlkeld, kindly gifted to Friends of the Lake District by local resident Mike Hambrey.

The weather has been kinder this week which has allowed the path works to continue. The line of the path is nearly all cleared and work has focused on getting a hardcore base down. A delivery of railway sleepers have been moved up the path which will form the edges of the path to ensure the path remains flat and is not washed out or collapses in future.

Once the basic path work is complete work will move onto building the bridge on site.
