Discover the Lake District...

Sunday 22 – Sunday 29 July

Join in with #NationalParksWeek2018 and #DiscoverNationalParks across the summer

You don’t need to join an event to explore the Lake District; we've listed a few ideas to help you discover more for free on Friends of the Lake District properties this summer.

Visit our upland hay meadows in flower at High Borrowdale, view the spectacular limestone pavements at Little Asby, say hello to Fell Ponies on The Helm or take a walk through our restored native woodland habitats; they're all waiting to be discovered during National Parks Week. Slow down and take the time to have a closer look at the stunning landscapes and the flora and fauna that inhabit the Lake District.

Keep up to date with all of our news, events, volunteering opportunities and campaigns via our regular e-newsletter.

National Parks Week is the annual National Park family festival championing all that is unique and special about National Parks. This year’s festival takes place Sunday 22 to Sunday 29 July and celebrates the countless opportunities to get outside and discover the length and breadth of the UK’s 15 National Parks.

There are lots of activities going on across the Lake District, you’ll find more details on the National Parks website:
