We recently worked with Post 16 students from Kirkby Stephen Grammar School who take part in the Yorkshire Dales National Parks Young Rangers Scheme. The short session was all about their thoughts and feelings about the landscape character of the Westmorland Dales, its limestone geology, the traditional buildings and natural heritage and farmed landscape.

At the end of the session they were persuaded that their opinions matter and are valuable. Without any prompts they nervously passed a phone around the room and we recorded their voices. Their fabulous comments reflect well educated, conscientious and thoughtful young people interested in the future of the Westmorland Dales. Enjoy!
