What WILL the grant fund? We can fund projects which: Improve, restore or enhance the landscape, natural or cultural heritage of the area Research, interpret, celebrate or raise awareness of its landscape and heritage Improve opportunities for people to connect with the landscape, access and enjoy the area, especially for those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to do so Improve health and wellbeing in the outdoors. Promote participation and training in traditional rural skills Involve the local community and/or volunteers Projects may include: Access – footpath enhancement, new links, development of walks or interpretation Town and village greens – management plans, restoration, new features e.g. seats, bulbs Local heritage features – bridges, milestones, sheepfolds, wash-folds, cast iron signposts Archaeology – including surveys, research, restoration Walls, hedges, flora and fauna – surveys, restoration, enhancement Local histories, place and field names, folklore, etc. New events, additions to existing events and/or celebrations focusing on landscape, flora and fauna, land management, cultural heritage School and educational activities Local food initiatives Interpretation of local heritage – leaflets, websites, art projects, etc. Manage Cookie Preferences
