Add your comments, pictures or links to our notice board below... Take time to explore the historic village of Newbiggin on Lune in the Westmorland Dales, birthplace of the river Lune. This village has long been at the centre of a working pastoral landscape that has adapted over the centuries but survives relatively intact to this day. The landscape is shaped by ancient layers of rock and geological processes that continue to shape human life here. The village has been shaped by the railway age, agriculture, trade in woollen goods and butter and by those who are just passing through.
