Over the past 80 years Friends of the Lake District has contributed towards more than 600 environmental projects throughout Cumbria, through our Environmental Improvement Grant scheme.

Grants have covered a wide range of projects such as school nature areas; major woodland creation; planting, laying and restoring hedgerows; building and restoring dry stone walls; creating and repairing pathways and bridges to improve access for all; landscape restoration projects for bogs and moors and sustainability projects such as recycling schemes and renewable energy projects including solar and hydro schemes, to name but a few!
