If you’ve always felt you’d like to ‘put something back’ into looking after the Lake District landscape, we're offering a fantastic opportunity to do just that at our Wasdale Fell Care Day on Saturday 4^th July.

Our mass volunteering event, run together with partners National Trust, Lake District National Park Authority and Fix the Fells, gives you the chance to get involved in a whole host of practical conservation tasks including: a litter pick up Scafell Pike, dry stone walling, rhododendron bashing, arty, crafty woodland activities, a canoe-based litter pick, upland path repair and maintenance and bridge building.

“This is our 9^th Fell Care day in 5 years and this time we’ve decided to hold a weekend event at Wasdale to enable people who can’t get time off from work during the week to take part.

“Our Fell Care days are hugely popular and bring together hundreds of volunteers on one day, in one place to learn about the importance of our upland landscapes and make a real difference by looking after the special landscapes of Cumbria. The majestic Wasdale valley is particularly special as it includes England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and England’s deepest lake, Wastwater.

“There’s always plenty of cake on offer to help fuel our volunteers through their tasks.”
