We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who joined us and South Cumbria Rivers Trust to 'pull together' in the totally tropical heat at Rydal on Friday 31 July for a second go at bashing the Himalayan balsam.
They have cleared millions of these non-native plants giving other species a chance to thrive and survive.
Never been so glad to see the ice cream van at White Moss car park!

We’re really pleased to see the effect that our efforts have had – there is much less balsam than last year in the same area, and, although we’ll need to do it again next year, we are confident we will eradicate it eventually!
