We've put out a call for helpers to get stuck into a whole host of practical conservation tasks at our mass-volunteering Duddon Fell Care Day on Thursday 8^th November, at which you will be rewarded in cake!

Ruth Kirk, Landscape Engagement Officer said,

The Duddon valley is a shhhh-don’t-tell-everyone-about-it kind of place with crystal streams, magical woodlands, spectacular fells. But just like the more well-known and popular spots, it needs our help to keep it so special. So we’re inviting people of all ages and abilities, with a day to spare, to discover it for themselves whilst doing something really worthwhile for the Lake District landscape. We can’t guarantee the weather but we promise fresh air, fun, friends, feel-good factor and cake!

Activities include dry stone walling, tree-planting, native forest restoration, Fix the Fells upland path maintenance, river fence restoration, tree cage construction, riverside path maintenance, watergate construction; all starting from the base for day at Seathwaite Parish Rooms.
