Landscape charity Friends of the Lake District has been overwhelmed by the number of images submitted to its 2022 photography competition. This year’s event has received more than 600 images featuring stunning images of Lake District and Cumbria sent in by members of the public hoping to feature in its 2022 Christmas card collection and 2023 calendar.

Rachel Dorrington, Fundraising Officer at Friends of the Lake District, said: “We’ve again been overwhelmed by the response to this year’s competition. It’s great to see all the fabulous shots people have taken of this stunning landscape. Picking the winners is always a difficult task, but this year was especially hard as the standard was so good. We'd like to say a huge thank you to everybody who took part and can’t wait to see the winning entries on our Christmas cards and calendars this autumn.”

Calendar images include views of Hawkshead, Buttermere, Elterwater and the Langdale Pikes, Derwentwater and Castlerigg stone circle. The charity’s Christmas cards and calendars will be available to order now from its website at https://www.friendsofthelakedistrict.org.uk/shop
