This year you have demonstrated clearly your true friendship of the Lake District. Thank you.

Many of you may have been dealing with your own extreme stress and hardship over the past few months, and we have done our best to keep you in touch with the Lake District landscapes we all love so much.

The team here has been determined to continue our vital work on your behalf. While many events were cancelled, we occasionally managed actual “feet on the ground” work including litter picking, removing alien plant species and our Leaders’ Landscape Training. We have dealt with planning applications and Government consultations; always putting the unique landscape of Cumbria at the heart of everything we do. We have continued our Westmorland Dales and Dark Skies projects, built on the success of our Sustainable Transport Conference, and been a voice for local communities.

This has all been possible because of your support, both now and in the past. Your generosity and shared love of the Lake District has not only kept us going, but has enabled us to take on new, exciting and very valuable work.

We all look forward to a brighter 2021 and in the meantime, may I wish you the best possible Christmas, and that you and yours keep safe and well.
