Event

Great Landscapes Week Leaders' Landscape Training: Conservation Farming
Today we are focussing on TASTE and SMELL - and where better to go than to a farm? Nibthwaite Farm is run as a fairly traditional farm on the east shore of Coniston Water and the surrounding area includes a lot of land which is in SSSIs (Sites of Special Scientific Interest) and of national importance for its natural habitat and supports rare species.

This walk will include looking at some of these areas and the species they help to conserve and propagate as well as introducing you to the livestock they keep which include rare breed sheep and cattle which provide a source of magnificent local produce.
