Together with Jessica Emsley, you will explore the area of the Helm above Kendal and look closer at this familiar landscape at this time of year.

You will be led through a series of experimental drawing exercises, exploring the senses and mark-making in response to what we observe.  We will walk and draw before spending a longer time at the tarn on land managed by Friends of the Lake District. Here, we will share a picnic whilst reflecting on our experiences, making our final drawings, and combining the senses.

Homemade seasonal cake and scones will be provided, along with a cordial drink.  You are encouraged to bring some food along too.

This workshop is suitable for all artistic abilities and focuses on the process of drawing and the enjoyment of being outside and connecting with the landscape. Jessica will take a slow approach to the session, however, you will be walking on mildly hilly ground so some level of physical fitness is required. You will need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and location.
