Description
Help us give Cumbria’s ‘Tiggy-Winkles’ homes to raise little hoglets in.
The hedgehog population in Great Britain has fallen from around 30 million in the 1950s to an estimated less than a million now, mainly due to habitat loss. These adorable animals, apart from being cute, are an important part of our ecosystem – acting as natural pest controllers, supporting healthy food webs, and aiding seed dispersal. They eat large quantities of garden pests like slugs, snails, beetles, caterpillars, and earwigs, helping keep invertebrate populations balanced without needing chemical pesticides.
We’re creating and maintaining hedgerows, a vital source of food and habitat for many animals including hedgehogs. They also provide safe places for hedgehogs to hibernate and raise their hoglets (baby hedgehogs). Your gift goes towards the management of land in the Lake District and Cumbria to create diverse, healthy and sustainable landscapes for hedgehogs and for all of us.
You will receive a beautiful A5 size gift card and certificate for you to personalise and give to your recipient or display yourself.
If you would like your gift posting direct to a recipient please call the office on 01539 720788 and we may be able to accommodate your request.
