Overview

The varied and unique landscapes of Cumbria are a key part of what makes the county special. New development or land use changes can however have a positive or negative impact upon these landscapes, depending on the type of development and proposed use, its location and its design.

Our planning team:

  • Responds to planning applications across Cumbria where the proposed development is likely to cause landscape harm.
  • Responds to consultations on national and local planning policy, for example Cumbrian Local Plans, to ensure landscapes are given full consideration.
  • Provides planning advice to other organisations such as Town and Parish Councils through our planning outreach programme..
  • Supports and provides planning advice to our members and community groups where requested.
