Kay Andrews, our landscape engagement officer said:

“The Great Landscapes Festival is all about encouraging people to connect with the landscape. We want to provide people with opportunities to enjoy the landscape responsibly, try things they may have never done before. It’s an opportunity to get out with family or individually and learn about our landscape, its flora, fauna, heritage and management with events taking place across Cumbria.

“Join our Family Fun day on The Helm near Kendal where you can build and decorate your very own hedgehog homes and bee hotels, take part in our treasure hunt or bring a picnic and just enjoy the view. Join a volunteer work party being run by Fix the Fells or a nature walk with Cumbria Wildlife Trust. There are plenty of exciting things for you to get involved in and the good news is that they are all free to attend.”
