The Helm workparty

Woodland and path work

Join our workparty for woodland work at the Helm, near Oxenholme.

• Location: The Helm, Oxenholme. Meet at the layby on the A65 Kendal at the foot of the Helm, near Oxenholme. GRSD 527889. What Three Words: ///trend.racing.encounter
• Time: 9.30am – 4pm
• Activities: Tree staking, checking tubes and ties, removing tubes, replacing trees, path clearance, branch lopping.
• Activity suitability: 16+
• Activity grade: Moderate. We will be walking up steep slopes and maybe working on slopes on the property.
• Please wear: Outdoor working clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty/muddy. Waterproofs and heavy boots or wellies. 
• Please bring:Gloves, packed lunch, drinks. Loppers / bow saw if you have them.
• Refreshment facilities: The famous array of Friends of the Lake District cakes will be available.
• Toilet & hand washing facilities: There are no man-made toilet or handwashing facilities on site but plentiful artfully placed trees should you experience the call of nature. We will supply antibacterial hand gel.

Please note that we/other volunteers may take pictures during the day to use in our publicity and for recording progress on site. If you do not wish to be included in any pictures, please let us know on the day.
