Greenbank Wood workparty

General tasks

Join our workparty for woodland management at Greenbank Wood, near Ambleside. 

• Location: Greenbank Wood, Ambleside. Meet at 9:30 in the SLDC carpark near the toilets, opposite the university in Ambleside.
• Time: 9:30am – 3pm
• Activity suitability: 16+
• Activity grade: Moderate. We will be working on slopes and there is a short walk to the property.
• Please wear: Outdoor working clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty/muddy. Waterproofs and heavy boots or wellies.
• Please bring: Gloves, packed lunch, drinks. Loppers/bow saw if you have them.
• Refreshment facilities: The famous array of Friends of the Lake District cakes will be available.
• Toilet & hand washing facilities: There are no man-made toilet or handwashing facilities on site but plentiful artfully placed trees should you experience the call of nature. We will supply antibacterial hand gel.

Please note that we/other volunteers may take pictures during the day to use in our publicity and for recording progress on site. If you do not wish to be included in any pictures, please let us know on the day.
