Forage & Feast Afternoon 18 October
Learn about all the edible species in hedgerows and taste some hedgerow produce!
Learn about hedgerow foraging and taste some hedgerow foods!
You will be spending the afternoon walking around the village with expert forager Abbi Lawson and nature recovery officer Naomi Walker. Abbi will teach you about all the wonderous species that grow within hedgerows, and how their produce can be used. We will then take a break inside the Witherslack Village hall, where we will taste some foods made with hedgerow foraged goods and have a nice hot cuppa!
- Location: Witherslack Village Hall, Witherslack, Grange-over-Sands LA11 6RW (What3words:///backtrack.tour.sunset). Parking is in the car park behind the hall. A staff member in hi-vis will be on-site.
- Date: Sunday 18 October
- Time: 1pm – 4pm
- Activity suitability: 10+
- Activity grade: Easy. We will be walking around the village looking at edible species. There may be some steep/uneven terrain and lots of bracken in areas.
- Please wear: Outdoor shoes and a waterproof in case it rains.
- Please bring: Pen and notebook (if you want to take notes).
- Toilet & hand washing facilities: There is a toilet at the village hall.
