Family night walk & stargaze

Join us for a short, guided nighttime family walk up to a viewpoint where you'll be able to stargaze with the Eddington Astronomical Society.

Family night walk & stargaze

Thursday 19 November 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Join us for a short, guided nighttime family walk up to a viewpoint where you’ll be able to stargaze with the Eddington Astronomical Society. Learn about nocturnal wildlife and how we can all reduce nighttime lighting to help them.

Terrain: Paved footpaths through town, then some steeper, cobbled paths including a number of steps to reach the viewpoint. Flat grass surface for the stargazing.

What to wear and what to bring: Check the weather forecast. Waterproofs if it looks like rain. Sturdy footwear (walking boots, robust trainers or similar). Please also bring a head torch. There are no dogs permitted on the walk.

This walk will be led by Friends of the Lake District engagement lead, Kelley Sproston-Heath.

This event is part of Cumbria’s Dark Skies Festival and the Kendal Mountain Festival and is suitable for all the family.

Booking for this event will open at the start of November.
