Join our workparty for woodland and path work at Dam Mire Wood in Threlkeld.

  • Location: Dam Mire Wood in Threlkeld, near Keswick. Meet at the car park at the entrance to the woods, just off Blease Road in Threlkeld village.  what3words.com/shuttled.chicken.recorders.
  • Time: 9.30am – 3pm
  • Activities: Tree staking, checking tubes and ties, removing tubes, grass weeding, path clearance, hedge trimming, plug planting.
  • Activity suitability: 16+
  • Activity grade: Moderate. 
  • Please wear: Outdoor working clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty/muddy. Waterproofs and heavy boots or wellies. 
  • Please bring: Gloves, packed lunch, drinks. Rubber headed mallet, hand fork or trowel if you have them.
  • Refreshment facilities: The famous array of Friends of the Lake District cakes will be available.
  • Toilet & hand washing facilities: There are no man-made toilet or handwashing facilities on site but plentiful artfully placed trees should you experience the call of nature. We will supply antibacterial hand gel.

Please note that we/other volunteers may take pictures during the day to use in our publicity and for recording progress on site. If you do not wish to be included in any pictures, please let us know on the day.
