Woodland maintenance
Join our workparty for woodland work at Middle Bleansley, Broughton in Furness.
- Location and meeting point: Middle Bleansley, Broughton in Furness. Meeting point: the yard below Lower Bleansley Farm, GRSD208891. What3words: penned.eggshell.lower.
- The roads are single track and parking is limited so please car share if possible. The roads need to be accessed from off the A593 at Lower Hawthwaite. These are narrow roads, so please check the route beforehand as it is rather difficult!
- Time: 10am – 3pm
- Activities: Tree work, path clearance, branch lopping, dry stone walling.
- Activity suitability: 16+
- Activity grade: Moderate. We will be working on slopes and there is a short walk to the wood.
- Please wear: Outdoor working clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty/muddy. Waterproofs and heavy boots or wellies.
- Please bring: Gloves, packed lunch, drinks. Loppers / bow saw if you have them.
- Refreshment facilities: The famous array of Friends of the Lake District cakes will be available.
- Toilet & hand washing facilities: There are no man-made toilet or handwashing facilities on site but plentiful artfully placed trees should you experience the call of nature. We will supply antibacterial hand gel.
