The land includes changes in levels and can be boggy, but there are no steep ascents. Sturdy footwear is required and you’ll need a torch for the bat walk. All walks are free to attend but booking is essential (book below).
Book for any of these walks and receive free vouchers for food from the on-site van for you and your family.
Food and drink
Bear’s Street Food van will be parked up in the Dam Mire Wood carpark from 5.30pm until 7pm. They will be serving sausage & mash (vegetarian & vegan options available). The van will be open to the public, accepting card payments, but if you book on to any of our guided walks, you’ll get free food vouchers for you and your family.

How to get to Dam Mire Wood
Dam Mire Wood is just off Blease Road in Threlkeld village (postcode: CA12 4RX). There are two entrances. Both can be accessed from the small carpark: what3words.com/shuttled.chicken.recorders.
The carpark at Dam Mire is very small so we encourage people to arrive on foot from Threlkeld village and use public transport to get to Threlkeld. You can reach Threlkeld village by bus which stops at Threlkeld Village Hall or the Horse & Farrier Pub. Buses run mostly every half hour. For timetables and route maps visit: X5 Bus Route & Timetable: Penrith – Keswick | Stagecoach (stagecoachbus.com)
We are providing a regular free shuttle bus that will pick people up at Threlkeld Village Hall or the Horse & Farrier Pub to tie in with the bus arrivals to take people up the hill to Dam Mire.
