We are delighted to launch our 2021 photography competition and once again see all your wonderful images of beautiful Lake District and Cumbrian landscapes.

This year we have two special categories:

1. Reflections

The Lake District landscape has been formed and carved by water over millennia. So we are looking for images which celebrate the unique landscape of the lake district to include reflections on lakes, becks, pools, falls and other water features, in any season.

The winner of the Reflections category will be displayed in an exhibition which is planned for later this year at Brockhole gallery (subject to COVID regulations at that time) alongside the work of photographers Rosamund and John Macfarlane and artist Julian Cooper. The title of the exhibition is: Lake District Reflections: An exploration of  lakes, mountain becks and waterfalls from under and over the water surface.

2. Dark Skies

The winner of the dark skies category will feature in our calendar and be used to highlight the important work we are doing within Cumbria to protect our night skies.

Please ensure that you photograph is titled "fullname.location.monthtaken" e.g. johnsmith.catbells.march. If the image is not named in this way we may be unable to accept your entry.

Closing date: 1st July 2021. If you have any questions about the competition please email [email protected]

Thank you and good luck!!!
