Kirkby Stephen Community Support funded the bark chippings which went down at the end. This sculpture will grow and change throughout the seasons. In summer time the children can enjoy the feeling of hiding away and exploring the leafy den, through narrow walkways and open spaces to sit and play. Also, it’s a fantastic new habitat for creepy crawlies! This project is the first step to ongoing improvements planned for the Park which will greatly benefit local young families. Outdoor play is fantastic for mental health and well-being and creates a life-long appreciation of the environment and nature. We hope to create more opportunities for outdoor play through our events and activities over the next few years.
