I can still remember my first visit to the Lake District & the impact it had on me. I was bowled over by the scenery & tranquility. From an early age I wanted to live here & I was lucky enough to achieve that dream

Many people are inspired by the Lakes in the same way I was & still am & I would like to help protect the landscape & scenery to allow this process to continue

Friends of the Lake District is an independent charity and the only membership organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing Cumbria's landscapes. Their ethos is similar to mine & I would like to do my own small bit to help them with their ongoing work

So why not brave the sands & walk across Morecambe Bay to raise some money for this worthwhile cause, I thought?

& this is exactly what my brother, my dogs & I will be doing on 22 July

Thankfully we will be guided by Cedric Robinson, who is the Queen's Guide, so any dangers should be minimised

Your support for this venture would be gratefully appreciated
