Who are the Friends of the Lake District Benefactors?

Our Benefactors are people who care deeply about the Lake District and want to see it protected so that future generations can enjoy the majesty, beauty and tranquility of our lakes and fells.

Benefactors believe in the vital and unique role Friends of the Lake District has to play in protecting these landscapes and they wish to become partners in our work by committing donations of at least £250 every year.

Benefactors help us to:

  • fight against inappropriate developments within the National Park
  • address the challenge of ever increasing visitor numbers (even more of a threat since the Lake District received World Heritage Site Status)
  • find solutions to help support our upland land managers post Brexit
  • work to repair the damage and to mitigate the effects of Climate Change on our landscapes

What does it mean to be a Benefactor?

As a Benefactor you will be party to conversations about our work and impact. You will have the opportunity to meet our Policy Officers and Chief Executive and to receive impact reports on the difference you have made. You will also have early sight of our campaigns, plans and future priorities in our ongoing efforts to protect the Lake District. Benefactors names, if so wished, will be listed in our annual report and on our website.

Our Current Benefactors

We are very grateful indeed to our current Benefactors:
