For many of us the serenade of our native birds when we visit woodlands is what makes them so special. Your gift will provide a safe place for these birds to nest and raise their chicks and will buy a nestbox for woodland bird such as blue tits, coal tits, great tits, house sparrows, nuthatches, robins, wrens and pied wagtails, starlings and even little owls. Different birds like different boxes so we will put up a selection of boxes in our woodlands to ensure good diversity of bird species. The UK saw a 20% drop in woodland bird numbers recorded between 1970 and 2013. Help us keep our woodlands full of birdsong. Your gift goes towards the management of land in the Lake District and Cumbria to create diverse, healthy and sustainable landscapes for all.
