Our native red squirrels are sadly rarely seen now in England. We’re very lucky here in the Lake District to still have red squirrels but they are under constant threat and need our help to survive. We provide nuts and seeds for feed stations and manage our woodlands to give them the best chance of survival. Our feed stations also need regularly cleaning to reduce the risk of squirrel pox contamination, a disease which kills 99% of reds that catch it. Your gift goes towards the management of land in the Lake District and Cumbria to create diverse, healthy and sustainable landscapes for all.
