Hedgerows are amazing. They help to provide healthy soils (holding carbon and slowing down water flow) and rich wildlife habitats. They're also beautiful to see and are often very old (100s of years), and provide field boundaries and shelter for farm animals. But, since the 1950s, 118,000 miles of hedgerows have been lost, so together we all need to replant many more miles again!

This is your chance to make a big difference and help create a lasting legacy in the Lake District landscape that you can watch develop in the years to come.

This volunteer event is open to anyone aged 16 or over. Children are also welcome as long as they have adult supervision. We may also be able to accommodate larger groups of younger people (such as school parties) but please email [email protected] if you'd like to enquire about bringing a large group to this event.

More details about the day will be emailed to you when you book your places, but if you have any questions please contact either [email protected] or [email protected]

This volunteer event is co-ordinated by Friends of the Lake District, Ullswater CIC and Alpacaly Ever After CIC.
