A bit about us...

Friends of the Lake District is an influential landscape conservation charity, founded in 1934 by campaigners who believed passionately in protecting the beautiful landscapes of Cumbria, and 90 years on we remain committed to this cause. Over the next three years we'll be delivering a new strategy for the charity, based on months of careful research and consultation. As a result, we're expanding and bringing new resources into many areas of the organisation to help make us fit for the next 90 years. You'll be joining us at a great time to build on our successes and help shape our future.

What about you?

We want you to have a passion for what we do and be committed to do your very best for our amazing organisation. This role will work alongside our other office administrator to help provide a comprehensive administration function for all aspects of our charity. You will have an eye for detail and as part of the team you'll help us develop our systems and procedures in order to make us more efficient and effective in our support for the wider organisation.

It’s also really important that you are a collaborator, someone who likes working with others, because we will need you to liaise with colleagues from across Friends of the Lake District to ensure our central resource function is fit for purpose and can flex with the future needs of the organisation.

To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience of office administration.
  • Minute taking and diary management experience.
  • Strong IT skills including being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience of data entry.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Have a solution focused approach.
  • Have excellent relationship building skills across staff, members, partners and stakeholders.
  • Be self-motivated and proactive in your approach.
  • Have experience of working with a customer relationship management system or an equivalent database.
