In this edition:

Welcome to our latest Postcard From the Lakes. It's a people focused edition this time around featuring the efforts of volunteers, Westmorland Dales Scheme apprentices as well as young people discovering miniature wonders in our woods in the Rusland Valley.

Our Dark Skies Festival is in full swing despite the best efforts of the storms, our planning work continues apace and the Westmorland Dales Scheme is up to speed as it adds more online talks to its offering of free events and activities in 2022.

The focus of this edition reminds us that our effectiveness as a landscape charity relies on being a 'people' organisation. Our success relies on our members, supporters, volunteers, trustees and staff. Whether its paying a subscription, making a donation, picking up a spade, speaking up for or celebrating our amazing landscape, people ensure that we are able to make a difference. Thank you as always to each of you for everything you do to support our work.

With very best wishes,

Douglas Chalmers, Chief Executive
