In this edition:

Welcome to our latest update. And what a hectic week it's been! Last Thursday was a stunning day for Haweswater Fell Care Day, our first big volunteer day for 2 years, which more than 50 volunteers took part in, thank you very much to everyone that took part.

The following day our Dark Skies festival began, with a diverse set of night time events taking place, near all of which have been fullly booked, and there's still time to catch an online Planetarium event tonight or on Sunday.

And of course, the COP26 climate conference began in Glasgow, and our policy officer Kate and patron Amy Bray went to it, along with a delegation from CPRE. You can read Kate's blog and see photos of their trip below.

Even if it doesn't seem like there's a lot we can do as individuals about the climate emergency, here at Friends we are working to restore ancient woodlands, and create habitat for wildlife corridors, and you can help us do that by donating to our Nature in Need appeal, more information below.

With very best wishes,

Douglas Chalmers, Chief Executive
