Welcome to our online 'blind' auction. The auction is now open and will close at 4pm on Monday 30th November. We'd like to invite you to submit your bids on our auction lots generously donated by a number of individuals and organisations. All proceeds from this auction will be split between two charities, Friends of the Lake District and Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.

 

Firstly we need to thank Terry Abraham, for his continued support, for bringing the idea to us, for promoting this auction alongside his latest 'Life of a Mountain Helvellyn' film which had its world premiere online at the weekend. Nearly three years in production and featuring contributions from household names, locals and visitors alike, Abraham's final love letter to Lakeland takes the breath away with sensational cinematography as we see Cumbria like never before. Thousands tuned in to watch and demand was so high that the screening is being repeated this weekend 14th and 15th November. Tickets can now be purchased at this link

Terry has also donated signed cinema posters and approached Vango, suppliers of mountain equipment who have made the generous donation of 2 of their Vango F10 MTN 2 tents as modelled by himself below!

Sunnyside Guest House in Keswick have also been incredibly generous with an offer of a free two night stay in the heart of Keswick currently valid for any date in 2021.

Lots and Bidding Process

We are now inviting bids on the 4 lots listed below. If you'd like to bid on any of the items listed, please click on the 'SUBMIT YOUR BID' button and complete your contact details together with your bid amount for any or all of the items listed. We will be collecting bids throughout November ending at 4pm on Monday November 30th. At this time, we will review all of the submissions and contact those people submitting the highest bids for each of the lot items. All of the proceeds from this auction will be split equally between Friends of the Lake District and the Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.

LOT 1 - VANGO F10 MTN Tent - Auction CLOSED

We're very grateful to Vango for donating two of their Vango F10 MTN 2 tents as lots for our auction, as modelled by Terry! As we've generously been offered two tents, we'll select the two highest bids for the tent at the end of the bidding period.

LOT 2 - VIP Family Tour Of Patterdale
Mountain Rescue Team's Base - Auction CLOSED

This will include a guided walk through the garage, boathouse and radio room where you will have an opportunity to look over our fleet of rescue vehicles, boat, swift water rescue equipment, and the equipment carried on rescues. A member of the leadership team will describe the use of the equipment in different rescue situations as you are guided around the Team's base, and answer any questions related to the work of Mountain Rescue. The tour, which will take place on a mutually agreed date (subject to Covid regulations), will conclude with tea and cake in our training room. We're lucky to have such brilliant supporters. A big thank you to the Sunnyside Guest House in Keswick for offering a gift voucher for a two night stay valid for stays between 1st January 2021 and 30th December 2021. LOT 4 - Signed Cinema Poster - Auction CLOSED

Thanks to Terry Abraham for providing us with two signed cinema posters for his latest film 'Life of a Mountain Helvellyn'. Each cinema poster is 30x40 inches in landscape format. As we've been given two posters, we'll select the two highest bids for these at the end of the bidding period.

LOT 5 - Give the Gift of a Landscape Tree in Lake District Woodland - Auction CLOSED

Friends of the Lake District will plant a landscape tree in ‘Mike’s Wood’ overlooking the village of Staveley, just one of a number of woods that it owns and manages in the Lake District. By funding the planting of a mature tree, you’ll be helping wildlife flourish by providing a new habitat, protecting soils from erosion and providing succession trees. The tree will be protected from grazing with its own fence and will grow to become a significant part of the Lake District landscape for generations. You or a nominated gift recipient will receive a personalised card and certificate in thanks for funding the planting of a native tree in this Lake District woodland.
