Our brilliant cross bay walk took place on Saturday and we're pleased to say, in dry conditions; despite some very pessimistic weather predictions.

The walk, from Arnside to Kent’s Bank, near Grange-over-Sands, saw 250 of our supporters walking and raising valuable sponsorship funds along with hundreds of others enjoying the walking and the wading across glorious Morecambe Bay.

The walk took our amazing fundraisers across the largest expanse of tidal mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom and was led by Cedric Robinson, the Queen’s Official Guide to the sands, who has been leading these walks across the bay for over 50 years.

We had a record breaking turnout this year. 250 people donned their blue Friends of the Lake District T-shitrs and set off across the sands. It was a spectacular sight and we have to thank everyone who took part and all of their generous sponsors.

We'd like to thank Romney's Kendal Mint Cake for supplying the sugar boost for everyone completing the walk. A lifesaver!

Your efforts have helped us to raise £4894.63 so far. We're still expecting more sponsorship money to come in so a brilliant effort. You can still make online donations to our Morecambe Bay fund by clicking on the Donate button.
