If you’ve ever been intrigued by the sight of a group of people carrying shovels and brushes up a mountain then this is your opportunity to find out just what they’re up to.

We're offering you the chance to try your hand at being a Fix the Fells Fella (or Lady – there are plenty of them!) at our Wasdale Fell Care Day on Saturday 4th July.

It’s an opportunity to join the fantastic Fix the Fells volunteers in stunning Wasdale and help them to maintain and care for upland paths in one of the Lake District’s most iconic and majestic settings.

Ruth Kirk, Fell Care Project Officer said;

“Fix the Fells volunteers do an outstanding job of looking after popular routes right across the Lake District and having a go at their ‘job’ is just one of the activities people can turn their hand to at our mass-volunteering Fell Care Day in July.

“Huge numbers of people come to walk the stunning fells around Wasdale which include the ascent of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, but so many boots tramping the hills mean that our upland paths need constant care to keep them fighting fit.“

If you want to Fix the Fells or try one of the other practical conservation tasks on offer at the Wasdale Fell Care Day, you can book your place online and find more information at: www.friendsofthelakedistrict.org.uk/Event/wasdale-fell-care-day or contact [email protected] 01539 720788.
