Are you a skilled and experienced project manager with a commitment to the landscape of Cumbria?

We have been granted a £317,000 award to develop a suite of exciting projects focusing on the Westmorland Dales, forming part of the newly expanded Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are seeking a Development Officer to develop the Westmorland Dales Hidden Landscapes Partnership Landscape Conservation Action Plan and programme of work, in order to meet the requirements and submit a second round application to the Heritage Lottery Landscape Partnership Fund in August 2018 for £3.2 million.

You will provide overall leadership, co-ordination and project management of the Landscape Partnership during its development phase through a strategic approach to your work and an eye for detail. You will work with partners and the Community Engagement Officer (who you will line manage) to develop a suite of projects, commission and manage consultants input to projects, gather and analyse information and data for Partnership’s Action Plan.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of developing partnerships, project development and submission of successful large scale and complex funding bids, as well as experience of managing a portfolio of projects and of managing budgets. Ideally you will have worked on HLF projects before. You will have experience of letting contracts, and of some of the following: archaeology, woodlands, grasslands, interpretation, small grant scheme, branding, access and recreation, business development.

The post is initially for up to 18 months, with a possible extension for a further four years to oversee the delivery of the four year project programme, subject to a successful second round bid.
