Friends of the Lake District continue to have deep concerns about the decision taken on 8 October 2019 by the Lake District National Park Authority Rights of Way Committee.  A Partnership Management Group was recommended in an attempt to resolve concerns about the Tilberthwaite route.  We have been invited to be part of this group.  However, we are concerned about the effect of this activity upon the tranquillity and peacefulness of the area and a reliance by the Park Authority upon what are purely voluntary measures to resolve the problem.

GLEAM (Green Lanes Environmental Movement) who specialise in such issues, are taking legal action against (Judicial Review) the Lake District National Park Authority and its refusal to issue Traffic Regulation Orders to restrict motorised use of the lanes other than for land management purposes.
