A slight departure today as we thought we'd share some fascinating survey work being carried out by the Westmorland Dales Scheme team in Asby Parish to put the areas drystone walls into a historical context and demonstrate how they reflect past land management.

Dune Day Watercolour creatures

A Cumbria Wildlife Trust event. Join us on the dunes for some family fun. Explore the creatures in the river and around the pools. Learn about the fascinating world under water and take a close look at some of the creatures lurking within. Come along, explore and try your hand at making and painting what you find too.
'Fix the Fells' Volunteer Workparty

Friday 12th August: Join Fix the Fells volunteers on Martcrag Moor, above the Langdale valley, to repair a path across peat bog built on top of sheep fleece. The path has suffered badly with water damage, so the day will be spent installing stone cross drains.
Woodland stories and crafts for families

A Cumbria Wildlife Trust event. Join us on a walk around the woods where we have set up areas to relax with your family and enjoy local stories and woodland crafts.
Hows Wood Walk and Talk

Tuesday 16th August: High Borrowdale Volunteering Workparty

Join our volunteer workparty at High Borrowdale and help us to care for this beautiful valley now part of the Lake District thanks to the national park extension in 2016. Through the extensive work of our volunteers this land has been transformed into a stunning landscape haven for wildlife and people.
