Paul Rose helps scientists unlock and communicate global mysteries in the most remote and challenging regions of the planet.

Patron of Friends of the Lake District, a man at the front line of exploration and one of the world’s most experienced divers, field science and polar experts, Paul brings us an enthusiastic and positive perspective of global issues such as ocean health, plastic pollution and conservation whilst celebrating nature conservation in Cumbria.

Fresh from his role as Ambassador for the Friends of the Lake District Great Cumbrian Litter Pick over the same weekend, Paul invites you to this thought-provoking lecture and asks you to come with enquiring minds and difficult questions!

Former Vice President of the Royal Geographical Society and Chair of the Expeditions and Fieldwork Division, Paul is currently Expedition Leader for the National Geographic Pristine Seas Expeditions.

He is an experienced television presenter and radio broadcaster. His experiences are illustrated with film, images and behind the scenes stories from the BBC TV series The Lakes.
