Thursday of Great Landscapes Week focusses on SOUND - listen to the sounds of an Evening Bat Walk on the shores of Derwentwater.

Friar’s Crag on the shore of Derwentwater, looking down into the jaws of Borrowdale, is one of the most iconic and best loved spots in the Lake District. And when dusk falls, it’s the time for nocturnal visitors to come out to play. Not we humans, but the resident bats that live there!

Join us on this evening walk, with experts from the Cumberland Bat Group, to learn all about these fascinating creatures and to listen to their sounds with aid of ‘bat detectors’.
