Cumbria Wildlife Trust is seeking volunteers to help survey grasslands as part of a new project being developed as part of Westmorland Dales Hidden Landscapes Partnership Scheme.

The Trust is running a free one day course in Orton  on 31st May to enable volunteers to learn the skills to help monitor grassland in the area.

The training will be led by Stuart Hedley, a lifelong field botanist with 30 years’ experience of surveying, training and monitoring through formal and informal teaching.

The course will involve a classroom session followed by an opportunity to put the theory into practice at some restored meadows nearby.
