A chance to visit Dalefoot Farm which is a working hill farm and home to Dalefoot composts. Above the farm at Bampton Common, a peat restoration project has been taking place recently. For those that fancy a walk we will have the opportunity to find out more about peat restoration from specialists and also take part by planting some sphagnum moss plug plants.

Hopefully there will be time for a picnic on the common too if the weather cooperates! Then we'll head to nearby High Drybarrows Farm which is a working hill farm and home to the Drybarrows herd of Fell Ponies, one of the few herds of ponies still ranging on the open fell. Meet the ponies and find out about the history of fell ponies in the uplands of Cumbria.
