We stand at a pivotal moment in terms of planning for the Lake District National Park. We see worrying proposals for major developments that could threaten this precious landscape, not least in the Lake District National Park Local Plan proposals.

This draft document could set precedents for future planning applications and tip the balance from nature and conservation towards man made development.

That’s why Friends of the Lake District is here, to be a voice for the landscape.

We make sure that the landscape and natural environment are fully recognised within the planning process, and not sacrificed purely for commercial gain.

Please help us to not only protect some of the most precious views in the country, but also our tranquillity, wildlife, clean air and water, precious soils, plants and trees, and much more.

Please donate and help us to stand up for some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country

By donating you will help us to continue supporting communities, objecting to inappropriate developments, and making sure these precious landscapes are truly valued.

Thank you for your support.
