The UK is currently one of the least wooded countries in Europe, yet every day we are discovering more about the complex role trees must play in combating some of our greatest challenges including: climate change, water management, productivity of agriculture, health and wildlife conservation.

Leaf sponsorship is a way of supporting precious woodlands in the Lake District and Cumbria whilst also celebrating the life of someone who loved trees and the natural environment; perhaps a new life in the family, a significant birthday or an anniversary.

Using the 'comments' section on the donation form, we invite you to write the name of the person you wish to commemorate, along with a short dedication or memory.

These comments will then be copied onto a leaf and hung on a hawthorn tree with hundreds of other sponsored leaves as part of a tree dressing event in December. Tree dressing, traditionally taking place during the first week in December, is an ancient custom that celebrates the life giving properties of trees. This tree dressing event will form part of The Long View Project.

All money raised through our leaf sponsorship will go towards our work looking after the precious woodlands in Cumbria.
