If you’re available on Thursday 3rd November and would like to spend a satisfying day in an undiscovered part of the Lake District taking part in conservation activities and eating cake, then we have just the event for you.

We'll be holding our 14th mass volunteering Fell Care Day in the unspoilt Rusland Valley (situated between Windermere and Coniston) and have a wide range of tasks to choose from - all fuelled by the legendary Friends’ cake!

Ruth Kirk, Fell Care Project Officer,

“We have activities to suit all ages and abilities and we are delighted to be teaming up with the Rusland Horizons Landscape Partnership Programme to introduce people to this wonderful area and help protect and enhance it”.

Activities include: dry stone walling, hedge laying, vegetation cutting, boardwalk building, archaeology surveying, coppicing, path building, a lakeshore litter pick and a dormouse nut hunt. The ‘hub’ for the day will be Colton Church Hall with activities running between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Places are available on a first come first served basis. To book visit https://www.friendsofthelakedistrict.org.uk/Event/rusland-fell-care-day or contact [email protected]
