We're extending an open invitation to our Burns Night Ceilidh on Saturday 23rd January to help raise money for our ‘Lake District Landscape Flood Appeal’ whilst dancing away the winter blues – or greys!

The event is being held at the Castle Street Community Centre in Kendal which was itself, the victim of flooding, and will feature the Eden Valley Ceilidh Band, a supper of haggis, neeps and tatties and the piping of the haggis.

Director (and Eden Valley Ceilidh Band caller) Douglas Chalmers,

“Our Ceilidh was originally planned as an event to recognise the tremendous efforts of our volunteers, but we cannot now ignore the devastating effects the recent floods have had on our county's incredible landscapes.

"Hopefully we have seen the worst of the storms, but the recovery process will be a long and hard road. Our Ceilidh will help to keep this work in the public eye and also raise much needed funds for it.”

Tickets cost £12 (with one free ticket for anyone who has volunteered with Friends of the Lake District during 2015) and can be purchase online by clicking the link below or by contacting Ruth Kirk at [email protected]  or on 01539 720788.
